Take it like a man.

A few months ago my friend Aaron put in ceramic tile and grout all around the kitchen and bathrooms.

Today we tore it all out and replaced it with epoxy.

Last summer Manny and I spent days installing a new massive commercial 100 gal water heater. Next week we will do that again from scratch.

We have built, dismantled and built again 200 feet of heavy steel gas pipe. This weekend we will do that all again.

We have measured and had  blueprints drawn and met with plan checkers at the county office at 7:00 a.m., and next week we will do that again. Julia spent the week building cabinets. We will take them apart and build them again. Differently.

We have done and redone so many back-breaking and expensive tasks this does not really bother us that much. Hitting the financial wall is pretty scary though. None the less we have not lost any time and that’s the main thing. There is only one direction we can possibly go.

Be in the moment you are in, for there are no others.

Uncle Paul

This may sound like an odd request but is there anything an excited audience member can do to help? I’m really rooting for you guys to succeed!

Thanks Steffen, but the city has not and never did make it hard for me. They have even been supportive and helpful at times. It is the county that is insisting I build to a standard way higher than I imagined. We should be grateful they have such high standards of consumer protection.
It is true that this kind of endeavor favors the wealthy.

Thank you Alex, and Priscilla. You are very kind. Our backs are into the work and it will get done soon. I just need to come up with a bunch more money. We are repaying at 5.25% on eight year terms, and we have excellent perks for our investors. So if you know any venture capitalists send them my way. I will call on you very soon to Yelp, and tweet, and like and all of that very soon. Which will be very helpful.
    Thanks

James – First, thanks for the behind the scenes look at the start of BA. Second, looking forward to my short walks to your establishment.

    Question:
Do you have a running total spent so far? Or a number that you are estimating your per sqf cost upon completion? Are we looking at a 1100 sqf space..?

Can’t wait to see this place.

    Thanks David,
I am not sure of the totals per sq ft. My space is only 960 sq ft and I have spent about one hundred thousand dollars on the build out. But that includes stuff like the kitchen hood system, as well as all of the fees. I have spent a bunch more on the beer and wine license, taxes and stuff like that too.
I worry people will be disappointed. So much angst for such a little space!
